Employer-Sponsored Visas

Employer-Sponsored Visas

An Employer-Sponsored Visa allows skilled overseas workers to reside in Australia and work for their nominating Australian employer. Applicants must be qualified or have sufficient experience working in an occupation listed on the relevant Skilled Occupation List to be eligible for this visa. Our immigration consultancy is here to support you in your visa-related needs. We are located in multiple destinations throughout Australia along with an active online presence as well. Our services include both onshore and offshore applications and we strive to provide you with quality assistance with your needs and enquiries about your eligibility and desired visa appeal.

To apply for an Employer-Sponsored Visa, individuals have to be nominated by an Australian employer for a skill they possess that is sought by the employer. Individuals who are nominated can thus begin the application process set forth by the Department. Starting from the general criteria to the constantly changing policies, our immigration agents are fully informed with all the necessary details to help you in your appeal. Our team holds both expertise and experience to study, prepare, and modify your distinctive visa application.

In the employer nomination visa appeal, there are a few visa types that you can qualify for. The potential Employer-Sponsored visas that an individual may be chosen for comprise the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa under subclass 482, an Employer Nominated Visa under subclass 186, and a Regional (Provisional) Sponsored Migration Scheme under subclass 187.

Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186)

The Employer Nomination Scheme under subclass 186 lets skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian employer live and work in Australia permanently. Approved employers can employ workers from abroad within Australia when they cannot first fill the roles with Australian Nationals or Permanent Residents due to shortages. Under this scheme, international workers are given a permanent skilled position. Applicants can work and study in Australia, enroll in Medicare, and apply for Australian citizenship if eligible. The 186 visa has three streams via which an applicant can apply from. Each of these streams has a two-step application process. First, the international worker must be nominated by an Australian employer, and only then can they proceed to the application process. The three distinct streams of application for a 186 visa are the Direct Entry Stream, Labour Agreement Stream, and Temporary Residence Transition Stream.

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 187)

The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme under subclass 190 is significantly similar to the ENS visa under subclass 186 but it has a few distinctive points that make it a unique visa appeal. Similar to the 186 visa, this visa allows nominated skilled workers to live and work in Australia permanently. Approved employers can employ international workers from abroad or within Australia when they cannot first fill the roles with Australian Nationals or Permanent Residents due to shortages. Under this scheme, international workers are given a permanent skilled position. Applicants can work and study in Australia, enroll in Medicare, and apply for Australian citizenship if eligible. Applicants can be inside or outside the Australian territory while making the application.

Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Subclass 482)

The Temporary Skill Shortage Visa, also abbreviated as TSS, under Subclass 482 has replaced the 457 visa under the employer-nominated visa type. This visa appeal allows registered Australian or overseas business owners in Australia who experience genuine skill shortages and cannot find Australian workers to fill vacant positions by nominating international candidates. Specifically, this visa lets skilled workers and their families live and work in Australia for an approved business for a certain time period in occupations that are on the list of eligible skilled occupations based on their terms of availability. A business that fulfills the respective criteria will be able to sponsor someone for this visa in case they are unable to find an Australian citizen or permanent resident to fill the skilled position at their workplace. This visa type has 4 different streams: The Short Term Stream, Medium Stream, Labour Agreement Stream, and Subsequent Entrant Stream.
